The Ambassador of Ukraine Ihor Humennyi took part in Panel discussion on “Current developments in Ukraine” organized by the Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia. Its main panelists Prof. Dr. Mohammad Naqib Ishan Jan (International Islamic University Malaysia), Prof. Dr. Azmi Hassan (Universiti Teknologi Malasia), Ambassador Dato Redzuan Kushairi (Deputy Secretary General United Nations Association Malaysia), as well as Ambassador of Ukraine described in details the reasons for the crisis in Ukraine and aggression of the Russian Federation against our State. The convergent views were expressed that the hostile actions of the Russian Federation in Ukraine not only jeopardize the maintenance of peace in Europe, but also undermine the rules of International Law that create the ground for the same acts of aggression in any part of the world, including Asia Pacific Region.

At the same time at the discussion it was stressed that the best way for de-escalation of the situation in Ukraine is the achieving the results of the diplomatic efforts at the negotiation table. The Ambassador of Ukraine answered the numerous questions of the participants of the event.
