On July 1, the Ambassador of Ukraine Ihor Humennyi took part in the lecture on “Ukraine and European security” by Professor Dr. Sarah Birch, University of Glasgow, that was conducted in the Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia (IDFR). The event was organized in collaboration with Foreign Policy Study Group (FPSG) and Jeffrey Cheah Institute on Southeast Asia. A number of representatives of the scientific circles of Malaysia, journalists, diplomats as well as students and lecturers of IDFR were present at that arrangement and participated in the discussion and questions and answers session.
In this framework the Ambassador Ihor Humennyi has made substantive comments regarding the development of the situation in Ukraine and the measures undertaken by the President and the Government of Ukraine in order to settle the situation in Donbas. He devoted special attention to signing of the economic part of the Agreement on Association between EU and Ukraine and to the possibilities for economic development opened in this regard for our country. The tone of the discussion which took place, once again confirmed that the overwhelming majority of the Malaysian sociality supports the expedite settlement of the situation in Ukraine and expresses critical attitude to the aggression of the Russian Federation against our State.
