The Ambassador of Ukraine in Malaysia Ihor Humennyi took part in the discussion at the presentation by Mr. Joseph Cirincione, the President of the “Ploughshares Fund”, Washington DC, of the topic “The crisis in Ukraine and emerging geo-political issues” at the Institute of Strategic and International Studies of Malaysia (ISIS). Contrary to the Ambassador of the Russian Federation in Malaysia, the Ambassador of Ukraine Ihor Humennyi supported almost all estimates of Mr. Joseph Cirincione regarding the development of the situation in Ukraine, the annexation of the Crimea by Russia and further its aggression against our State, that create real danger for supporting of peace in Europe as well as the effectiveness of the sanctions imposed on Russia by the USA, EU and some other developed countries in this connection. The Ambassador Ihor Humennyi also agreed with the assumptions of Mr. Joseph Cirincicone on downing the plane of the “Malaysia airlines” MH17 in Donbas and further complications for conducting of recovery operations on the site as a result of separatists’ activity in the contrast to the position expressed by the Ambassador of Russia.

In general, the event on which the representatives of the mass media were invited, gave the possibility to widen in Malaysia the information regarding aggressive policies of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, which could lead to unpredictable consequences and the necessity to follow the peaceful solution of the situation.
