It was stated by President Petro Poroshenko in the course of the working meeting with RSA heads. "I have made a decision to proclaim January 15 the Day of Mourning for the people murdered by terrorists. First of all, for the civilians killed at the checkpoint near Volnovakha," the Head of State has noted.
The attendees have honored the memory of the people killed on January 13 with a moment of silence. "Pro-Russian militants-terrorists have destroyed the civilian bus at the checkpoint with a rocket. They have fired at both Ukrainian warriors and Ukrainian civilians," Petro Poroshenko said.
The President has emphasized that the entire world expressed condolences to Ukraine. Particularly, respective statement of the UN Security Council has been published. It is also planned that on January 15 the European Parliament will make a decision on the tragedy in Ukraine. Petro Poroshenko has informed that in the course of today's phone conversation, Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel and President of France Francois Hollande had expressed condolences and support to the people of Ukraine in the principled fight against terror.
The Head of State has stressed that Ukrainians shared the pain of the families of the deceased and wounded. "Just as the world demonstrated in Paris, we demonstrate in Ukraine that we are not afraid of terrorists. We are united. One cannot intimidate Ukrainians!" the President noted.

A Book of Condolences to mark the Day of Mourning for victims of terrorists, first of all for the civilians killed on 13 January 2015 near Volnovakha, Donbas region of Ukraine, will be opened for signing at the Embassy of Ukraine, Suite 22-02, 22nd Floor, Menara Tan & Tan, 207 Jalan Tun Razak, Kuala Lumpur, on the following days and times:
- Thursday, 15 January from 14:00 till 17:00
- Friday, 16 January from 10:00 till 13:00 and from 14:00 till 17:00
