As a result of the discussions on emergency measures to counter the Russian threat and terrorist attack, supported by the Russian Federation, the NSDCadopted a set of decisions to strengthen defensive capability of the state and counter-terrorism measures, to establishcivilian-military administrations on the area of ATO for ensuring of the safety and life activities of the population on these territories.
The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine made a decision on supplying in the framework of the state defense order of new weapons and military equipmentfor the Armed Forces of Ukraine, National Guard and other military formations.
For increasing the pressure on Russia, the NSDC decided to impose in Ukrainestrictly compliance of the sanctions against the Russian Federationimposed by the EU, Switzerland, the USA and the countries of the Group of Seven and made a proposal to strengthen thesesanctions.
The NSDC authorized the Government to initiate appeal procedure to the Hague Tribunal on crimes against humanity, committed by terrorists against Ukrainian citizens in 2014-2015 as well as recognition of DPR and LPR as terrorist organizations.
In addition, the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine initiated a package of legislative amendments to strengthen the defensive capability including amendments to the Law "On powercleaning"so far as relevant to permission for experienced officers and generals to continue military service.
During the meeting the President of Ukraine charged the Government to provide comprehensive assistance to all victims of the recent terrorist attacks.
