On March 28, 2012H.E. Mr. Ihor V. Humennyi, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Malaysia met H.E. Professor Ms. Jasmine Ahmad, the Dean of the Faculty of Administrative Science and Policy Studies of the University Technology MARA (UiTM) and H.E. Dr. Mohd Yusof Ahmad, Director of the Institute of ASEAN Studies and Global Affairs (INSPAG).

UiTMis Malaysia's largest University. The University was established in 1956 and has 25 branches nationwide and 21 affiliated colleges. With this vast network and a workforce of 17,000, the University is the home to more than 172,000 students a year(all forms of education).

The Institute of ASEAN Studies and Global Affairs is one of the main think tank of the country in ASEAN’s issues.

During the meeting the Ambassador of Ukraine informed his interlocutors about the foreign policy of Ukraine in South-East Asia and the bilateral relations between Ukraine and Malaysia.

In his turn, Professor M.Y.Ahmad outlined the priorities of ASEAN, the basic mechanisms of interaction within the organization and expressed his vision of the main tasks of the Organization and the role of Malaysia in ASEAN institutions.

At the end of the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the prospects of the establishment of the direct links between the Technical University of Malaysia and the relevant institutions in Ukraine.
