H.E. Mr. Ihor V. Humennyi, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Malaysia had the meeting with the Deputy Director General of the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) Ms Sharifah Hashim and the representatives of the various divisions of this agency.

Within the framework of the meeting the Malaysian side presented the structure and functions of FAMA and its particular divisions. At his turn H.E. Mr. Ihor V. Humennyi informed the Malaysian side about the potential of the Ukrainian agricultural sector and the export capabilities of agricultural enterprises in the context of enlarging of the cooperation between the two states in this sphere. In this regard the opportunities of the export to Malaysia of cereals (wheat, corn for feeding animals), meat products (beef), oil cultures (sunflower) as well as import to Ukraine of tropical fruit were discussed.

As the result of the negotiations there were identified several perspective areas of cooperation between Ukraine and Malaysia in the sphere of agricultural products marketing. In this context it was agreed to facilitate the interested agricultural enterprises of the both countries in establishing working contacts, in particular, during exposition and fair events.
