On the 3rd of January 2013 the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Malaysia H.E. Mr. Ihor V. Humennyi had a meeting with the Head of the ICC International Maritime Bureau Piracy Reporting Centre (IMB PRC) Mr. Noel Choong in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The Ambassador of Ukraine was informed in details about the methods of work and capabilities of the IMB PRC that is the first point of contact for the shipmasters that works closely with the UN and the bodies of its common system, the EU, INTERPOL, as well as the other international organizations, governments and law enforcement agencies for the purpose of combating piracy. The trends in the development of the situation in this sphere were also discussed.

During the meeting the interlocutors also dwelt upon the issues relating to the perspectives for the development of cooperation between the IMB PRC and the appropriate governmental bodies of Ukraine.
