On 30 April 2026, Ambassador of Ukraine to Malaysia, Dr. Hennadii Nadolenko, PhD paid a courtesy call on Dato’ Ir. Rajendran Anthony, Mayor of the City Council of Penang Island.

During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for enhancing cooperation between Ukraine and Penang Island, including the potential development of sister city partnerships and collaboration in the economic, cultural, and educational fields. 

Dato’ Seri Chuah Kim Seah, Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Georgetown, Penang, was also present at the meeting.
