On 5th – 6th October 2011 the Ambassador of Ukraine to Malaysia H.E. Mr. Ihor Humennyi paid a visit to the Malaysian state of Sabah. During the visit Ambassador of Ukraine met with the Governor of the state H.E. Tun Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Juhar Haji Mahiruddin and the Chief Minister of Sabah Honourable Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Haji Aman. In addition, the Ambassador held talks with the Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Industrial Development of Sabah, representatives of the Sabah Ministry of Infrastructure Development and made a presentation of trade, economic and investment opportunities in Ukraine for the leading federations of manufacturers of the region.



During the meetings the counterparts discussed the establishment of Ukrainian-Malaysian cooperation at the regional level, development of business relations, cooperation in education sphere. The meetings have shown the potential for the development of cooperation with the Malaysian region, in particular, the following most promising areas have been identified: shipbuilding, power generation equipment supply, metallurgical industry, chemical industry and air cargo transportation.
