On February 21, 2012 the Ambassador of Ukraine to Malaysia H.E. Ihor V. Humennyi had the meeting with Dato’ Mohd Irwan Serigar Bin Abdullah, the Under Secretary Economic and International Division of the Ministry of Finance Malaysia and Dato’ Siti Haliman Ismail, the Under Secretary Tax Analysis Division of the Ministry of Finance Malaysia. The subject of the meeting was to discuss the prospects of the Convention between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of Malaysia on Avoidance of Double Taxation to be signed.

The interlocutors talked over the problems which have been existing and continue emerging due to the unsettlement of this issue. In this regard the participants shared the idea of mutual benefits coming as a result of signing of the Convention that would become a powerful impetus to the development of bilateral trade. Therefore there should be acceleration in the processing of the draft text of the final document.
