On July 18-22, 2011 the delegation of the Ukrainian aircraft manufacturer SC  «Antonov», headed by the Vice-President, Deputy General Designer Mr. Oleksandr Kiva, has visited Malaysia. During its stay, with the facilitation of the Embassy of Ukraine, the delegation conducted a range of presentations and negotiations.

Among them, on July 20, 2011 the presentation was held in the Department of Civil Aviation of Malaysia with the participation of the Department’s Director General H.E. Dato’ Azharuddin Abdul Rahman. The following participants also took part at the event: heads of the functional Sectors of the Department of Civil Aviation; representatives of the main Malaysian cargo airlines  «Mas Cargo»; Malaysian Industrial Development Authority; Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology; as well as interested companies including those from the remote regions of Malaysia.

The detailed information on current products range of the Ukrainian aircraft manufacturer, capabilities and advantages of its aircrafts’ exploitation for the local and regional passenger/cargo transportation were presented at the event. The participants also discussed possible perspectives for establishment of the cooperation on manufacturing, service and modernization of the Antonov aircrafts and their parts.

On July 21, 2011 the Antonov delegation conducted presentation for the Royal Malaysian Air Force, where the questions of possible use of the special porpoise Antonov aircrafts were discussed.

As a result of the presentation events, the parties highlighted significant potential for the possible development of cooperation and agreed to consider more precisely and in close collaboration the questions of its practical implementation.
