On February 17, 2011 H.E. Ihor Humennyi, the Ambassador of Ukraine participated in the official launching ceremony of the 11th Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition «LIMA 2011», which is to be held on 6 – 10 December 2011, at Langkawi island, Malaysia. Honorable Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, the Minister of Defence of Malaysia, the Commander in Chiefs of the Army, the Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force of Malaysia, the high officials from the ministries and, as well as the heads of the prominent companies took part in this event.

At the previous exhibition «LIMA 2009» more than 400 companies exhibited their products, as well as over 210 official delegations from more than 40 countries visited expositions. Altogether, the exhibition was visited by more than 71 000 persons. It is expected that in the year 2011 the interest to participate in «LIMA 2011» will be increased. Therefore, during the official launching ceremony it was highlighted, that due to participation of the companies which is operating in oil and gas sector, green technologies and tourism in «LIMA 2011» its thematic focus will be changed significantly.

The possibilities to present the Ukrainian exhibition at «LIMA 2011» was discussed by the Ambassador with the officials of the Ministry of Defence of Malaysia, the members of the organizing committee and with the Senior management of the companies that are intended to participate in «LIMA 2011».
