On January 28, 2011 H.E. Ihor Humennyi, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Malaysia held a meeting with Hon. Dato’ Shamsul Azhar Abbas, President of the National oil company of Malaysia «Petronas» and discussed the issues regarding the establishment of the cooperation between Ukraine and Malaysia in the development of oil resources in the deep waters of the Ukrainian Black Sea shelf area.

During the meeting the further steps were agreed with the view to strengthen the economic cooperation between Ukraine and Malaysia in oil and gas sector.
