The Ambassador of Ukraine Ihor Humennyi gave an interview to the National News Agency of Malaysia “Bernama” about development of the situation in the eastern Ukraine, in particular regarding the measures undertaken by the Government to resolve the problems connected with internally displaced persons, and investigation of the downing of the “Malaysia Airlines” flight MH17. In this context the further acts of aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine were highlighted. Along with that, the information campaign, which is conducted by the Russian Federation in order to distort the causes of this tragedy and to form public opinion about non-involvement of this country in its commitment, has been disavowed.

Through the National News Agency of Malaysia “Bernama” Ambassador urged the Malaysian mass media to impartially treat the problem of the MN17 and to wait for the report of the international investigation team.

In this regard the new opportunities that arise as a result of the beginning of the removal of the wreckages of the plane from the territory of Ukraine to Netherlands were positively commented.

Comments on the possible inclusion of Malaysia to the Joint Investigation Team were also made.

At the same time the attention was attracted to the commemoration of the Victims of Holodomor of 1932-1933 in Ukraine and the establishment of the Day of Dignity and Freedom in the country.
