On December, 1, 2010 H.E. Ihor Humennyi, The Ambassador of Ukraine to Malaysia hold a meeting with Hon. Dato’ Noharuddin Nordin, Chief Executive Officer of Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), in order to discuss the possibilities of extending the trade and economic cooperation between Ukraine and Malaysia.

During the meeting the possibilities of strengthening collaboration between Ukraine and Malaysia in economy and trade, in particular, the establishment of joint ventures in energetic and aerospace spheres were discussed. Dato’ N. Nordin also underlined the importance of the establishment of the cooperation in the field of the development of the Ukrainian oil and gas industry. Meanwhile, in his view, the Malaysian companies could be interested in receiving the Ukrainian high technologies and in personnel training.

Among the issues of strengthening of more close trade and economic relationship between Ukraine and Malaysia, the possibilities of the intensification of work aimed at popularization of business relationship between two countries was also discussed. It was agreed to conduct the joint seminars and workshops in this regard, as well as to disseminate the business information in MATRADE specialized edition.
