On November, 30, 2010 H.E. Ihor Humennyi, Ambassador of Ukraine to Malaysia hold a meeting with Hon. Dato’ Sri Mustapa Mohamed, Minister of International Trade and Industry of Malaysia with aim to discuss the possibilities of extending the trade and economic cooperation between Ukraine and Malaysia.

During the meeting the Minister was acquainted with the latest achievements of the economy of Ukraine and its industrial potential, as well as the plans for extending the trade and economic cooperation between two countries. The issues of strengthening of the bilateral intergovernmental relations, in particular, the advancement of the preparation of the Protocol on the establishment of Joint Trade Committee between Ukraine and Malaysia for signing, and the possibilities for exchange of the governmental delegations were also discussed. Special attention was paid to the perspectives of mutual cooperation in metallurgy, chemical, agricultural, oil and gas, engineering and transport industries. The interlocutors exchanged their opinions on the establishment of cooperation in shipbuilding and aircraft building.

The Minister of International Trade and Industry of Malaysia instructed the relevant departments of the Ministry to speed up the preparation of the Protocol on the establishing of Joint Trade Committee between Ukraine and Malaysia for signing.
