On the 23rd of March 2012 the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Malaysia H.E. Mr. Ihor V. Humennyi had a meeting with the Chairman of the International Multilateral Partnership against Cyber Threats (IMPACT) Datuk Mohd. Noor Amin and the Director of the Global Response Centre of IMPACT Anuj Singh.
The Ambassador of Ukraine was informed thatIMPACTis the cybersecurity executing arm of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). Now IMPACT collaborates with140countries and provides ITU’s Member States access to expertise, facilities and resources to effectively address cyber threats, as well as assisting United Nations agencies in protecting their ICT infrastructures.
During the meeting the issues characterising IMPACT‘s structure and activities, particularlyUN-relatedactivities, and the functions of the IMPACT’s Global Response Centre have been discussed, as well as the perspectives for the development of cooperation in the sphere of cybersecurity betweenthis organizationandthe appropriate governmental bodies of Ukrainehave been determined.
The meeting took place in conjunction with the first visit of IMPACT‘s delegation to Ukraine for the participation intheCross-Regional Seminar on “Current methods for Combating Cybercrime”, which is organized by theITUin Odessa, Ukraine, on March 28-30, 2012.
