November 1-10, 2012 the delegation of the Kyiv Regional State Administration (KRSA) held the visit to the Selangor state, Malaysia. The delegation was headed by the Deputy Head of the KRSA Mr. Y.Golovin. As a result of the series of meetings of the delegation with the authorities of the state, the representatives of the local business community and various governmental agencies the parameters of the further development of inter-regional cooperation between the Kiev region and Selangor were identified. In addition, the head of the Ukrainian delegation attended the opening ceremony of the up-to-date cyber & entertainment complex in the city of Shah-Alam - “i-City”. The visit of the KRSA was wide covered by the Malaysian media.
The Ukrainian delegation included representatives of the largest dairy industry of the Kyiv region. In this regard, a number of business meetings were held in order to expand the market of the Ukrainian dairy products, technology and best practices with the Malaysian companies. In particular, the Ukrainian delegation visited the leading factory in manufacturing of the packaging «Aik Joo Can Factory», the largest Malaysian venture of the dairy production «F & N», the bakery plant «Gardenia», palm plantations of the company «Sime Darby», vegetable fats processing plants of the «Premium Oils and Fats» and the «Erapoly», the sweets factory «Monin», etc. the representatives of the Ukrainian enterprises also held substantive talks with the potential partners in the supply of components of dairy products «ASFAR», as well as established business contacts with the Indonesian representative office of the «Sanzi» and the leadership of the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB).
The results of the first KRSA visit to Selangor were discussed with the Chief Minister of the state – Y.A.B. Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Abdul Khalid bin Ibrahim during the farewell dinner. The visit demonstrated the feasibility and great potential for further development of cooperation between these administrative units of the two countries. As a result of the visit it was agreed to continue and deepen the bilateral dialogue.
