On April 24, 2012 H.E. Ambassador of Ukraine to Malaysia Ihor V. Humennyi had the meeting with Officer-in-Charge of the Islamic Development Bank Malaysia Mr. Kunrat Wirasubrata.

The representative of the bank briefly informed the Ambassador about the features of the Islamic approach to the banking («Islamic banking») as well as the system, structure and activities of the regional offices of the IDB, particularly in Southeast Asia. The interlocutors discussed the possibilities of cooperation between financial institutions of Ukraine (the National bank, the Ministry of Finance) and IDB. In this context, Mr. Wirasubrata expressed his willingness to assist in establishing direct business contacts between Ukraine and the Islamic Development Bank.

In addition, they discussed the activities of IDB in international banking and investment spheres. During the meeting Mr. Virasubrata expressed the interest in participating of this bank in the conference on the issues of the perspectives of the activity of financial and banking institutions from islamic countries in Ukraine including IDB. In this regard, the parties agreed to maintain the working contacts.
