On 24th August 2017, on the occasion of 26th anniversary of Independence of Ukraine and the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Ukraine and Malaysia, the Embassy of Ukraine held a Tree-planting ceremony of a chestnut tree - symbol of Kyiv, capital of Ukraine, and a hibiscus - national flower of Malaysia. The event, which took place at the Putrajaya Botanical Garden, was officiated by H.E. Mr. Olexander Nechytaylo, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Malaysia and H.E. Puan Kamsiah Kamaruddin, Undersecretary, Europe Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia. Members of the Ukrainian Cultural Association in Malaysia and representatives of the Ukrainian community also attended the ceremony.
