FromJune 8 till July 1, Ukraine will welcome all tourists and football fans coming to watch the most important football event of the year 2012 - the final tournament of the European Football Championship (EURO 2012).

I am pleased to state that the all preparation works for the EURO 2012 have already been successfully accomplished. During the resent years the Government of Ukraine has managed to develop the necessary infrastructure required to meet the highest criteria and standards of the UEFA. Apart of the construction of the new sports objects, transport communication lines and hotels, the intensive measures were also undertaken for ensuring the comfort and secure stay of football fans in Ukraine from all countries of the World. The Ukrainian competent authorities guarantee the safety of the participants and the guests of the EURO 2012.

Regrettably, some mass media sources unreasonably politicized the issue of EURO – 2012, that could not be considered either then the beautiful and important sport event.

Ukraine is the home to the people of more than 100 nations and nationalities with different cultural and religious background living together in harmony. In its history the hostility between the nations and ethnics groups, as well as the problems of racism have never been accrued.

Ukrainians are the nation of very friendly and tolerant people. Malaysians could feel this themselves during their visit my country for the EURO 2012.

Ukraine is a football country with good football history and traditions. I would like to wish all Malaysians visiting the EURO 2012, as well as all fans who will watch the games on TV the pleasant moments and joy.
