On November 24, 2011 the Ambassador of Ukraine H.E. Mr. Ihor Humennyi met with the Minister of Finance II of Malaysia Dato’ Haji Ahmad Husni bin Mohamad Hanadzlah. Ambassador informed his counterpart on the state of socio-economic development of Ukraine. The development of bilateral trade and economic relations between Ukraine and Malaysia was also discussed during the meeting. In this context, both sides expressed satisfaction with the state and dynamics of collaboration in this sphere, in particular it was noted that Ukraine has become Malaysia's largest trading partner in Central and Eastern Europe.

In the context of future development of relations in trade and economic cooperation, the counterparts agreed to intensify the consideration of draft Convention on Avoidance of Double Taxation, the conclusion of which may become a powerful stimulus to bilateral trade.
