Since 26 November till 1 December, 2012 the International Forum “Conflict and Conciliation in the People’s Politics – Looking Back or Looking Forward?” and 63^rd Annual General Assembly of the United Malays National Organization (UMNO), the ruling Party of Malaysia, were been holding in Kuala-Lumpur. This year, for the first time, the delegation of the Party of the Regions of Ukraine participated in these events.

In particular, on November 26, 2012, during the International Forum “Conflict and Conciliation in the People’s Politics – Looking Back or Looking Forward?”, H.E. Mr. Anatoly K. Orel, the Head of the Ukrainian delegation, the Deputy Head of the Department of International Relations of the Party of Regions of Ukraine met H.E. Mr. Najib Tun Razak, the Prime Minister of Malaysia, the President of the UMNO. During the meeting the letter of H.E. Mr. Mykola Y. Azarov, the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Head of the Party of Regions of Ukraine has been presented to the Prime Minister of Malaysia.

On November 27, 2012 H.E. Mr. Anatoly K. Orel made a statement at the plenary session of the International Forum about the political situation in our country and the achievements of Ukraine during the past 20 years in preventing interreligious, interconfessional and interethnic conflicts in Ukrainian society.

On November 28, H.E. Mr. A.K.Orel held the political consultations with H.E. Mr. Adnan bin Tengku Mansor, the Secretary General of the UMNO.

The contacts have also taken place between H.E. Mr. A.K.Orel and the former Prime Ministers of Malaysia H.E. Mr. Tun Dr. Mahathir bin Mohamad and H.E. Mr. Tun Abdullah bin Haji Ahmad Badawi.

On November 29, Ukrainian delegation participated in the official opening ceremony of the UMNO’s General Assembly.
